Peter A. Indelicato, M.D. To Be Honored
At 2010 Gainesville Heart Ball
Heart Attack survivor, Florida Gator team physician and healthy living advocate, Peter A. Indelicato represents all that the American Heart Association supports in its mission to “build healthier lives” and stronger communities.
The American Heart Association and Gainesville Heart Society will honor Dr. Indelicato at the 2010 Gainesville Heart Ball this February. Dr. Indelicato survived a heart attack five years ago. Today, he is a strong leader, health advocate and hero to Gainesville and the medical industry.
After completing his residency in Orthopaedics in New York, Dr. Indelicato received additional fellowship training in Sports Medicine at the National Athletic Health Institute in California. Recognized nationally, Dr. Indelicato's 33-year career includes caring for some of the country's most well known athletes. Dr. Indelicato currently serves as the Head Team Physician for the University of Florida Gators and is the Division Chief for Sports Medicine at The UF&Shands Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Institute.
Peter Indelicato has lived through the fear and trauma of a life threatening cardiovascular event. He has experienced what the American Heart Association was built upon. He has spent countless hours providing medical expertise and spreading awareness to strengthen a strong physically active society.
